Want to know how to find exercise you enjoy? I am excited to tell you my best tip to find exercise you enjoy and a bit of my movement journey. π§π½ββοΈππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈ
Friends and family members could never understand my obsession with working out or getting sweaty in different ways. As a young girl, I was always running, bicycling, and playing outside, challenging the kids from the neighborhood or my cousins to race me in any way possible. It was so much fun, and I found that I would often win!π
I feel like I was born with this explosive energy β‘οΈ within me that has kept me interested in anything related to moving my body.Β Since I was 18 years old, I have gone from gym to studio to race, seeking physical challenges for my body.Β A physical challenge is what has always brought me the most joy in my movement routine.Β
Iβve tried just about everything: big box gyms, spin studios, HIIT studios, Pilates, TRX, Crossfit, Cross Training, and Yoga! There is something special about each of these practices, but some of my favorite exercises are swinging a kettlebell, TRX suspension training, and now Yoga.Β All of the above were challenging in their way, but I loved trying something new! Iβve always entered my new ventures with caution but enthusiasm to conquer them. πͺπ½
This same attitude of enthusiasm helped get me through my battle with cancer. When I found out about my diagnosis, I went through my moments of sadness, anger, and confusion.Β Then, I pulled myself together and prepared my mind for this next challenge. One of the single most important things I did to pull myself through my cancer diagnosis was treat my diagnosis like the health challenges Iβve conquered in my life.Β I conquered it with caution but enthusiasm to beat it, and I did. ππ½ππ½
When I went through my breast cancer journey, I was lucky to have been in good physical form from all my years of fitness. This helped me recover more quickly after all my treatments were completed. Once I was cleared, movement immediately became a part of my life again. Another lesson I learned through my journey was that nutrition is just as important as exercise. If youβre on your cancer journey right now, remember, keep an enthusiastic attitude because you can conquer this and so much more. ππ½πβ‘οΈΒ
